VOLKSWAGEN HAS ADDED MORE to the iconic Golf, now with an entry price of $38,690 (plus on road costs) and complete with new, larger 10.3-inch infotainment as standard and only a single option – an additional $800 for metallic paint.
Volkswagen is pursuing a three-tier value, luxury and performance strategy with the iconic Golf, which remains the go-to small car for discerning hatchback customers.
The new entry Golf Life from $38,690 makes way for an even more comprehensively specified, luxurious Golf Style from $43,690.
Even when specified with a Sound & Vision Package ($2000 – featuring Area View 360-degree camera, head-up display and Harman/Kardon premium audio) and panoramic sunroof ($1900), the new Style becomes among the most luxurious hatchbacks for under $50,000.
Customers who want a class-leading small car can now choose between the fully specified Style, or the sporty intent of the R-Line at $47,990. The R-Line can also be optioned with the Sound & Vision pack and panoramic sunroof.
Now with 195kW of power and zero to 100km/h in 5.9 seconds, the reinvigorated Golf GTI steps up from $58,990.
More choice for hot hatchback customers comes in the form of Vienna leather package ($3900 – with power adjustable driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats), separated from the panoramic sunroof. A Sound & Vision package is optional, now with Area View.
The flagship Golf R is now joined by the Golf R Black Edition from $70,990 and $72,490 respectively, each with 245kW of power for the first time in a series production R – and 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds.
