A HUGE COMPANY IN INDIA, Mahindra tends to fly under the radar in Australia. That could all change with its new SUV, the Scorpio-N. Designed as a global product, Mahindra tell us they are planning have it in Australian showrooms in 2023.
The all-new Scorpio-N is expected to create benchmarks in the SUV segment, especially for an Indian product. Tough yet sophisticated, the Scorpio-N is a head turner (for an Indian product) with a bold and imposing design and commanding driving position. It boasts premium interiors (for an Indian product) and comes loaded with a host of advanced modern features and latest technology. The Scorpio-N is powered by spirited diesel engine, with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. In keeping with its adventure capabilities, it will be offered with true 4×4 capability.
Designed at Pininfarina, Italy, and Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS), Mumbai, and engineered by the teams at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) near Chennai and Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) in USA, and manufactured at the state-of-the-art world-class facility at Chakan, Pune, the Scorpio-N is truly a global product.
The Australian market launch of the Scorpio-N will be in 2023, subject to improvement in global supply chain. Australia is a priority market for Mahindra, we are told, as the Mahindra brand is well-established and represented via a robust retail network of 49 outlets across six states.
