HOLDEN TODAY ANNOUNCED that it will be releasing its Acadia premium seven-seater SUV later in the year, the first time it has offered a GMC-based product in its line-up.
GMC recently won the Kelley Blue Book 2017 Brand Image Award for Most Refined Brand (yes, they really do call it that!).
Acadia is typically American but has benefited from Holden input from early in its development, yet anther example of the continuing Holden influence on GM products coming out of North America.
Vice President Buick and GMC Marketing, Phil Brook rose through the ranks at Holden and is in no doubt that the Acadia is the right product for the Australian market.
“Australians, as with customers around the world, are choosing to drive more SUVs every year. Attracted by the size and space, ride height and the extensive list of comfort, safety and technology features, SUVs are a reflection of people’s lifestyles,” said Mr Brook.
“Nobody does SUVs better than General Motors and GMC. Acadia ticks all the boxes and more. It’s proved very popular here in the US and will be a perfect fit in Australia, too. It has a premium feel, outstanding quality, a strong road presence, plenty of cutting-edge technology and enough room for seven adults. It’s a fantastic all-rounder.”
Holden will be putting the Acadia through real-world local testing until its launch in Australia later this year. They will use a fleet of 14 vehicles and cover 1.5 million testing kilometres.
