Ford refreshes the Mustang, drops Dark Horse limited edition

FORD AUSTRALIA HAS ANNOUNCED SPECIFICATION and pricing updates to the seventh-generation Ford Mustang, and confirmed that Mustang Dark Horse Special Edition will depart Ford Australia’s stable for 2025, with all 1000 Australia-bound units finding homes.

Strong supply of Mustang GT Fastback, and GT Convertible and EcoBoost Fastback means there is availability of current model year vehicles nationwide, though stock may vary between dealers. The updated Mustang, which will introduce a new exterior styling pack and fresh Prestige Paint hue, is expected to begin production in late 2024, ahead of arrivals early next year.

New Bronze Appearance Pack 

New for GT models is the optional Bronze Appearance Pack, which replaces the Black Appearance Pack and features:

  • Sinister Bronze Pony badging on front Grille
  • Sinister Bronze ‘GT’ badging at the rear
  • Sinister Bronze ‘5.0’ badging on the left and right fender
  • 19inch x 9inch Front and 19inch x 9.5inch Rear Sinister Bronze-painted wheels

Colour Changes 

Also new for is the optional Prestige Paint hue of Molten Magenta, alongside Carbonised Grey, Grabber Blue, Vapour Blue, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver, and no-cost option Race Red, and Oxford White.

Atlas Blue, Dark Matter Grey, Rapid Red, and Yellow Splash will no longer be available.

Pricing

Prices for the new Mustang start at $66,990 (all plus on road costs) for the EcoBoost Fastback 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol auto, $78,990 for the GT Fastback 5.0-litre petrol manual ($3000 more for the auto) and $87,667 for the auto convertible 5.0-litre petrol variant.

Personalising packs include the EcoBoost Appearance pack for $1500, GT Appearance Pack for $1950, Bronze Appearance Pack for $1950, Magneride Suspension with red-painted Brembo brake calipers for $3835 and Recaro Sport seats for $3835. Prestige paint adds $910.
