CHERY AUSTRALIA HAS CONFIRMED specifications for its first all-electric model, the Omoda E5.
This futuristic EV is the newest addition to the Omoda family, providing consumers with a sustainable driving option within Chery’s local line-up.
Characterised by its innovative crossover design, the OMODA E5 is powered by a single electric motor that produces 150kW power and 340Nm of torque. With a driving range of up to 430km (WLTP), the E5 enables drivers to travel freely without the need for frequent charging.
Arriving in two smartly appointed variants (BX and EX), the E5 will offer an array of features that Chery vehicles are renowned for.
The entry-level BX is highly equipped, coming with dual 12.3-inch screens, 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 50W wireless phone charger.

Future driving
Both variants of the E5 come equipped with a single electric motor, producing 150kW and 340Nm, with power sent to the front wheels.
Accelerating from zero to 100km in 7.6 seconds, the E5 offers brisk performance with an equally impressive power consumption of only 155Wh/km.
Range anxiety is a thing of the past with the E5 able to travel up to 430km (WLTP) and can be DC charged from 30 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes via a DC fast charger.
The Omoda E5 also has a maximum towing capacity of 750kg.
Premium features and high-end technology
The Omoda E5 is designed to impress across both variants, coming with all the latest technology expected from Chery vehicles.
This includes dual 12.3-inch screens (instrument cluster and infotainment) taking centre stage inside the cabin, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offline navigation, a premium Sony Sound system with up to eight speakers, and the availability of multi-colour ambient lighting along with a powered sunroof.
Chery’s voice command system is also present with drivers able to control features such as changing radio stations, opening windows and setting the climate without having to take their hands off the steering wheel.
Peace of mind driving
The Omoda E5 has a comprehensive list of active and passive safety features, including 7 airbags that include driver, passenger, centre, front side and side curtain.
Moreover, the Omoda E5 is also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) integrating 18 kinds of intelligent driving assist functions, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane keeping assistance (LKA) to mention a few. There is also the inclusion of a full-size spare wheel, which is a rarity in this class of vehicle.
The battery is covered by an eight-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, while the vehicle is backed-up by Chery’s comprehensive seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, seven-year capped price servicing and up to seven years of roadside assistance.
Eye-catching presentation
Building on the intelligent design of the ICE Omoda 5, the E5 features a pronounced grille, which houses the CCS2 charging port, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, twin rear spoilers (roof and bootlid), LED head and tail-lights, plus DRLs.
Five distinct colours are also offered to further enhance the E5’s road presents. This includes Titan Green, Lunar White, Saturn Silver, Space Black and Martian Red. There’s also the option of a black roof on EX model Titan Green and Lunar White models.
The Omoda E5 will join the petrol-powered Omoda 5, TIGGO 7 Pro and TIGGO 8 Pro Max in local showrooms this September.
