BMW 7 Series coming, with fully-electric i7 variant

WHEN CAR COMPANIES FIGHT it out with their top-end models, you can be sure that nothing is overlooked to make them appeal to the well-heeled.

BMW Australia will further advance its progressive product strategy and upper luxury offering with introduction of the new 7 Series sedan – a model long renowned for its standard-setting levels of sophistication, technology and refinement – later this year.

Just like other BMWs, only bigger

The seventh-generation 7 Series combines driving pleasure, unsurpassed long-distance comfort and an outstanding digital experience while showcasing new styling that underlines its commanding road presence.

This is aided by the standard offering of a long wheelbase variant across the model spectrum. The new wheelbase, at 3215mm, is 5mm longer than the sixth-generation long wheelbase model, while overall vehicle length, width and height has increased by 131mm, 48mm and 65mm respectively.

The 7 Series will be available as an all-electric model for the first time

A combination of dynamic ability and first-class comfort are delivered through comprehensive chassis upgrades as well as by fitment of two-axle air suspension and adaptive damping as standard across the line-up.

Innovative technology with new generation of sensors, enhanced software stack and powerful computing platform allies with the latest suite of cutting-edge active safety technologies.

Significantly, the new generation 7 Series model will also include a fully electric version in its portfolio, the i7, which joins BMW’s rapidly expanding line-up of zero emissions vehicles.

Too much bling can be overpowering. Or is it for the Chinese market?

Addition of the i7 will position BMW as one of the leading manufacturers in Australia for the breadth of its electrified vehicle line-up.

Development of the new 7 Series is in full alignment with BMW’s primary focus on CO2 reduction and all-encompassing sustainability strategy with use of green energy and a high proportion of natural and recycled materials in the production phase.

Lie back and let someone else do the driving

The new BMW 7 Series line-up will include two models, the 740i and i7 xDrive60, with pricing for the former starting at $268,900 (plus on road costs) and latter at $297,900 (plus on road costs). BMW will commence deliveries to customers in Q4.
