Abarth 595 reduces range, ready for track or street

IT WAS ALWAYS QUESTIONABLE if Abarth really needed so many different variants in a range that was (and always will be) a niche market, especially in a market like Australia that buys so few.

At home on the race track just as much as urban streets, the Abarth 595 range is now available across Australia, blending sports styling and technology updates with the Competizione in 2021.

Cute, but with a sting in its tail

The Abarth 595 range now exclusively in the premium Competizione hatchback and convertible variants, features tech and style updates, including the new ‘Rally Blue’ paint colour, celebrating the 1970s Fiat 131 Abarth Rally and new Montecarlo 17-inch alloy wheels, inspired by the race-ready Lancia Delta Rally Integrale.

Powered by the same Euro 6D 1.4 T-jet engine, delivering 132kW and 250Nm, rally fans can rejoice with the premium features of the Competizione standard across the range. With its Brembo brake calipers, Abarth Dual Mode Record Monza Exhaust and Front and Rear Adaptive Suspension with KONI Frequency Selective Damping, the Abarth 595 line-up also features interior highlights including Leather Abarth Sports Seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel with carbon fibre inserts.

Lots of features wrapped up in a small package

“The updated Abarth 595 range celebrates the premium appointments of the Competizione with the quintessential rally car traits Abarth is known for,” said Tom Noble, Director of Marketing Communications for Abarth.

“The race-ready power of this hot hatch has also seen style updates that speak to rally racing history, including a modern take on the iconic Montecarlo wheels and the new matte Rally Blue exterior paint colour paying homage to the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally.”

Sports-oriented interior

The interior technology includes a 7-inch Touchscreen Display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a 7-inch Instrument Cluster, the Dusk and Rain Sensors a new addition to the existing safety and convenience features including Rear Parking Sensors and Daytime Running Headlights.

Complete with Tar Cold Grey Exterior Trim Highlights, the Abarth 595 Competizione is now available in 10 exterior paint colours, including the new matte ‘Rally Blue’ and pastel ‘Adrenaline Green’.

Further accentuating its sports looks, a black roof option has been made available on the new ‘Adrenaline Green’, as well as the ‘Modena Yellow’, ‘Abarth Red’ and ‘Gara White’. The Abarth 595 Competizione Convertible variant instead features a Retractable Soft-Top Roof.

The Abarth 595 Competizione range is on sale now from $32,950 (plus on road costs), available at Abarth Dealerships across Australia.
