Toyota dresses up the Landcruiser

TOYOTA’S RANGE-TOPPING Landcruiser 200 Series Sahara is a perennial favourite, and it’s sure to be even more popular with the limited edition (400 examples) Horizon special edition, to go on sale in March 2021.

From the front, the Horizon is distinguished by a unique design grille with a dark finish, black headlight surrounds and smoked chrome foglight surrounds. At the rear is a “Horizon” badge.Inside, an elegant ambience has been created with premium black semi-aniline leather-accented seats with unique stitching and “LandCruiser” embossed into the backrest.

The logo is embroidered into the seat backs

Additional features include a heated black leather-accented steering wheel, black interior trim and headliner with chrome accents, and premium stitching in the leather-accented door trims.

A further unique touch exclusive to the Horizon special edition is the LandCruiser logo that is illuminated in the front and rear puddle lamps.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley said the LandCruiser Sahara was already a premium and eminently capable large SUV, on and off the tarmac, and the new Horizon special edition gave it that touch more class.

“As Australia’s best-selling upper-large SUV, there is no shortage of LandCruisers out there and the new Horizon special edition offers customers an enhanced visually distinctive appeal,” Mr Hanley said.

Few will notice the change to the grille

“With its bespoke styling and premium ambience, the Horizon special edition is equally at home for an elegant night out in the city as it is crossing the Simpson desert,” he said.

The new Horizon special edition is powered by LandCruiser’s 200kW/650Nm 4.5-litre V8 twin-turbo diesel engine that drives through a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift function.

A full-time four-wheel drive system with a full set of low-range ratios and Multi-Terrain Select offers serious off-road capability while a smooth comfortable ride and solid road holding is assured by the fully independent suspension.

The Landcruiser comes at a hefty price

In addition to the unique styling enhancements, the LC200 Sahara Horizon is equipped for comfort and convenience with power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, four-zone climate control, smart entry and start, multi-terrain monitor, premium audio system with a 9-inch touchscreen display, rear seat DVD player and satellite navigation.
