Desirable BMW M4 in local showrooms early next year

WE SHOULD BE USED to repurposing of symbols by now, but it always takes a little while to adapt. Latest to play keyboard games is BMW who have just announced the exclusive (750 units worldwide and just six for Australia) BMW M4 Edition ///M Heritage, appearing in local showrooms in early 2020 (although we strongly suspect they will all be sold long before that).

The limited edition M4 (should we call it the “Slash, slash, slash”?) showcases iconic colours from BMW M brand’s racing history and will be powered by the BMW M4 Competition engine, which produces 331kW and 550Nm of torque.

This helps launch the high-performance coupe from 0-100km/h in 4.0 seconds.

You’ll need to be quick to snare one

Only six for all of Australia

Three variants will be available with specific BMW Individual paintwork and interior upholstery colour combinations.

Edition 1 features BMW Individual Laguna Seca Blue with BMW Full Leather ‘Merino’ upholstery in Bi-colour Silverstone/Black with contrast stitching in Turquoise.

BMW Individual Velvet Blue metallic headlines Edition 2, with BMW Individual Full Leather ‘Merino’ upholstery Bi-colour Silverstone/Black with contrast stitching in Velvet Blue/Orange decorating the sport-focused seats.

Edition 3 showcases striking BMW Individual Imola Red II paintwork and an eye-catching BMW Individual Full Leather ‘Merino’ upholstery in Bi-colour Red/Black with contrast stitching in Red/Yellow.

Who would have thought to use the M colours across the roof?

Each car is fitted with bespoke carbon fibre trim fashioned with BMW M colours, as well as a BMW M Carbon Roof with decorative strip in BMW M highlights.

The BMW M4 Edition ///M Heritage will feature the following as standard:

  • Forged 20-inch M light alloy wheels star spoke 666 M, exclusively finished in Orbit Grey
  • ‘Edition ///M Heritage 1/750’ lettering on interior CFRP trim and door sills

  • Wireless charging for smartphones
This is about the most subtle of the interior colour combinations
