FOLLOWING THE INTRODUCTION of the new X 350d 4MATIC flagship X-Class model in December last year, an Edition 1 X 350 d 4MATIC variant will be released in July 2019 with only a limited number available.
Exclusive black design features and accessory parts give the big Benz ute even more presence.
Standard metallic paint will be available in three different colours, black, white or grey (how very Mercedes-Benz!) However when it comes to the exterior parts, black is the order of the day: a black centrally positioned star and twin-louvre radiator grill, black front and rear bumper-bar valance, black fog light surrounds, black side door handles and rear tailgate handle, black badges, black beltline trim strip, black roof rails and black 19-inch 6-twin-spoke alloy wheels. In a first for X-Class, sports stripes (in black, of course!) adorn the engine bonnet, side mirrors, V6 badge surrounds, lower side lines and rear tailgate. In the black model, all exterior parts and stripes are a high gloss finish, with the sports stripes appearing in grey for contrasting impact. In white and grey, a matt black finish is applied for all exterior parts and stripes.
Also included are a liner in the tub and a hard tonneau cover (less practical than a roller shutter).
Visual highlights in the interior include floor mats with Edition 1 embroidery and a chrome Edition 1 badge on the passenger side dash. Standard leather heated seats are included, along with rear privacy glass and an electric rear windowpane (just like the Nissan from which the X-Class is derived).
The Edition 1 is based on the X 350 d Power variant, with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 190 kW/550 Nm and the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system with low range reduction gear.
The Edition 1 X 350 d 4MATIC is priced at $87,500 (plus ORC).
