ALWAYS ONE OF THE HEADLINE historic racing carnivals of the year, Winton returns for 2022 bigger and better than ever.
Along with the thrill of historic car, motorcycle and sidecar races in one of regional Victoria’s largest sporting events, organisers will add to the spectacle of Historic Winton by re-introducing its renowned special anniversary displays this year on 28 & 29 May at Winton Motor Raceway, near Benalla.
Organiser and President of the Austin 7 Club Inc, Len Kerwood said that people from all over Victoria and beyond traditionally filled the miles of Historic Winton car parks with their ‘pride and joy’ vehicles, so there would be just as much to see around the track at 45th Historic Winton.
“It is a great opportunity for lovers of cars, motorbikes and other vehicles to enjoy the events’ living museum of the displays as well as the race action,” Len said.
“Meeting the original owners or those who have lovingly restored their prized hobby vehicles is something that the crowds enjoy every bit as much as the races,” he said. “Race lovers can also wander the competition paddock, meet the entrants and marvel over their cars, motorbikes and sidecars, which is all part of the entry ticket.”
The traditional Sunday Parade will feature anniversary vehicles along with some of the most outstanding vehicles in the car park, invited on the morning.
Len said that grandparents and parents love to bring children along for free to see the novel and everyday transport beauties of yesteryear.
