IN ANOTHER MOVE designed to lure buyers into VW showrooms, Volkswagen has announced driveaway pricing for the entire Mark 7.5 Golf range, including the Alltrack and hugely popular GTI.
The compact luxury Golf Highline hatchback and Wagon are at the most affordable price points to date at $34,990 driveaway for the hatch, $36,990 driveaway for the Wagon, which has 605 litres of cargo space with rear seats up and 1620 litres with these folded flat.
The Highline’s standard safety kit includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, Lane Assist with adaptive lane guidance, Traffic Jam Assist and Park Assist. Standard premium appointments include Vienna leather upholstery on heated comfort sports front seats, panoramic electric glass sunroof and 17-inch alloys.
The Golf R hatch is now $54,990 driveaway; the Wagon is $57,990 driveaway.
The R cars are fully equipped and include metallic or pearl effect paint choices as standard, the two options being Dynaudio Excite 400W premium audio system and Panoramic electric glass sunroof.
The Mark 8 Golf is due in Australia showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2020 followed by the new Golf R in early 2021.
All new Volkswagens are covered by five year/unlimited kilometre warranty with the option of the new Volkswagen Care Plan that provides fixed price servicing for three or five years with free roadside assist for the designated period.
A three-year Volkswagen Care Plan equates to $1100 for most of the Golf range and $1350 for the GTI and Rs; or $1900 and $2350 over a five year plan.
Free roadside assist applies for the duration of the chosen Volkswagen Car Plan.
