TOYOTA’S LEGENDARY LANDCRUISER 300 SERIES flagship SUV range has arrived in Australian dealerships boasting multiple improvements to safety and multimedia technology and increased comfort and convenience features.
Priced from $97,990 (plus on-road costs) for the five-seat GX grade, the upgraded LandCruiser 300 Series range features the latest generation suite of Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance technologies along with an upgraded multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto designed to make the beloved family 4×4 safer, more comfortable and more connected wherever your journey takes you.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the significant upgrades for the LandCruiser 300 Series increased the appeal of Toyota’s celebrated off-roader.
“When launched locally in late 2021, the LandCruiser 300 Series continued the legacy created by its forebears, offering excellent performance, comfort and off-road capability for families and adventurers alike,” Mr Hanley said.
“This new range of upgrades to the line-up offer valuable safety, comfort and technology improvements which customers are sure to appreciate.”
The active safety features of the LandCruiser 300 Series have improved with new Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance features added across the six-variant model range.
For the entry-level GX, that includes lane trace assist with steering wheel vibration, emergency steering assist and the emergency driving stop system, designed to provide comprehensive protection for occupants and other road users.
Parking is also designed to be safer and easier with the addition of guidelines to the GX’s reversing camera.
Toyota’s latest-generation multimedia system has been adopted across the range and now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with DAB+ digital radio, Bluetooth compatibility and voice recognition.
In the GX grade, information and entertainment options are displayed onto an 8.0-inch touchscreen display with quality sound from a six-speaker audio system.
Toyota Connected Services functionality has been expanded to include remote air conditioning function and cloud-based connected navigation which can offer drivers points of interest, help with on- and off-street parking options and provide live traffic updates.
To ensure all necessary information is at hand for the driver, GX grades now feature a new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster while a powered tilt and telescopic steering column adjustment offers the perfect driving position.
The seven-seat GXL grade is priced from $110,820 and further bolsters its safety credentials, adding safe exit assist to help mitigate the chance of a collision when exiting the vehicle on the road side, and rear parking support brake to help detect obstacles and passing vehicles when reversing out of a parking space.
Inside, improved comfort is offered to occupants with the addition of the seven-inch digital instrument cluster, four-zone automatic climate control (up from two-zone), a centre console cool box, suede-like fabric upholstery, eight-way driver’s seat powered adjustment with lumbar support, 40/20/40 split-folding second-row seats and a second-row centre armrest.
The popular and luxuriously appointed VX grade offers improved technology with a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster to match the 12.3-inch multimedia system touchscreen that now offers connected and embedded satellite navigation. A new front HDMI port replaces the existing DVD/CD player for media playback.
New eight-way powered front passenger seat adjustment joins other carryover premium appointments including synthetic leather upholstery, carpet floor mats, heated and ventilated front seats and moon roof.
A powered tailgate completes the range of upgrades for the VX which is now available from $122,510.
Sitting above the VX is the Sahara grade which remains unchanged from 2024, priced from $139,310 and already includes extensive amenity with leather-accented upholstery, heated and ventilated second-row outboard seats, dual rear-seat entertainment system, 14-speaker JBL premium audio system, head-up display, power-folding third-row seats and a heated steering wheel.
The penultimate grade in the LandCruiser 300 Series line-up is the off-road-focussed GR Sport grade, which now adds a puddle light on the inside of the tailgate and arrives in showrooms priced from $146,160.
The five-seat GR Sport maximises the excellent off-road ability of the 300 Series platform and adds exclusive features including front and rear locking differentials, e-KDSS electronic swaybar disconnect and unique exterior styling touches which set it apart from the rest of the range.
Sitting at the top of the LandCruiser 300 Series line-up is the flagship Sahara ZX priced from $146,910, proving the most opulent iteration of the LandCruiser for customers who want to travel in comfort and style.
Based on the specification of the Sahara, the Sahara ZX features a unique grille and bumper design, 20-inch alloy wheels, carbon-look steering wheel, tailgate kick sensor and a Torsen rear torque-sensing limited-slip differential.
As part of the upgrade, Saturn Blue metallic has been removed from the LandCruiser’s colour palette, with customers able to choose from nine solid, metallic, mica metallic and pearlescent finishes.
All LandCruiser 300 Series variants are powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo-diesel V6 engine producing 227kW and 700Nm of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission which delivers power to all four wheels via a full-time all-wheel-drive system.
Every LandCruiser 300 Series features a locking centre differential, low-range transfer case, crawl control, downhill assist control and active traction control, while GXL and above add Multi-Terrain Select to ensure excellent capability in rugged terrain.
A braked towing capacity of 3,500kg across the range allows LandCruiser 300 Series customers to tow with ease, whether for work or leisure.
All LandCruiser 300 Series models are backed by the Toyota Warranty Advantage, covering five years and unlimited kilometres.
