WHILE MANY OF US WISH WE could undergo a mid-life makeover, the science is still some way off, but for cars, it’s a regular occurrence. Latest to get the treatment is Subaru’s top-selling Forester.
Forester’s face is freshened with revised headlight, fog light, front bumper and grille treatment.
Added EyeSight driver assist technology, enhanced suspension and off-road technology – for even greater driver confidence – combine with a long list of cosmetic refinements to widen Forester’s appeal still further.
Added to Forester’s suite of EyeSight features are:
- Lane Centring Function
- Lane Departure Prevention
- Autonomous Emergency Steering
Retuned front suspension coil springs and dampers improve ride comfort, steering responsiveness and handling, while the new aluminium engine mount bracket reduces vibrations and noise.
For more challenging All-Wheel Drive terrain, X-Mode is also revised, with the ability to automatically re-engage once the vehicle speed drops to 35km/h or less, while revised Hill Descent Control improves vehicle control speed.
Forester variants equipped with the Driver Monitoring System also gain gesture-controlled temperature adjustment for the air-conditioning, a new feature for Subaru that enables drivers to adjust the temperature via a simple hand gesture.
Subaru Australia General Manager, Blair Read, said: “We’ve never had greater demand for Subaru SUVs and current generation Forester is leading the charge.”
“These latest subtle changes to the Forester range will add to its appeal, which has already attracted new audiences with the introduction of hybrid variants and the Sport over the last 18-months.”
“It’s a great family car that offers genuine All-Wheel Drive flexibility unrivalled by most medium SUVs on the market.”
For improved driver vision in all variants other than Forester 2.5i, Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) is updated to an array head lamp system.
8-inch touchscreens are now standard across the range – previously, Forester 2.5i, 2.5i-L and Hybrid L had 6.5-inch screens.
Elsewhere in the cabin, an updated instrument panel design is introduced in Forester 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Sport and 2.5i-S.
In Forester 2.5i Sport, gunmetal and orange interior highlights are added throughout the cabin.
Forester 2.5i-S gets platinum coloured door armrest underside inserts.
Outside, Forester 2.5i-S and Hybrid S feature new alloy wheel designs.
Forester 2.5i Sport is distinguished by a circular fog light design featuring 6 LED lights.
Forester 2.5i Sport, 2.5i-S, Hybrid L and Hybrid S have an updated rear bumper lower cladding.
Meanwhile, Forester 2.5i-S, Hybrid L and Hybrid S also have revised silver roof rail finish.
Forester 2.5i Sport has geometric black door mirrors.
New colours are Autumn Green, Brilliant Bronze and Cascade Green, which are available on all variants other than Forester 2.5i Sport.
