Škoda launches Kamiq Select and Monte Carlo compact SUVs

ŠKODA IS DELIVERING EVEN GREATER entry and sports grade compact SUV specification, technology and value, with the upgraded Kamiq Select priced from a national $33,990 driveaway and the Kamiq Monte Carlo from $44,990 driveaway.

Škoda is continuing its ownership leadership with national drive away pricing between $1100 (Select) and $2300 (Monte Carlo) higher than the recommended retail price (RRP), affordable finance with guaranteed future value (GFV) plus a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty.

The Škoda Kamiq Select or Kamiq Monte Carlo can be purchased with GFV on Škoda Choice from just $82 per week and $109 per week respectively (at 6.99% p.a with 20 percent deposit, 60-month term and 15,000km limit).

The new Kamiq Select replaces the outgoing Run-Out, adding Drive Mode Select, front parking sensors, 8-inch digital instrumentation, “Loft” interior including cloth dashboard padding, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus dual-zone climate control air-conditioning for just $1000.

On the outside the Select features 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and tail-lights (with dynamic rear indicators), front fog lights, front and rear parking sensors and power-fold door mirrors as standard.

An 8-inch digital cluster, convenience key with keyless entry and start, automatic on/off headlights and wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated door mirrors, height adjustable front seats with lumbar support, rear air vents and leather-trimmed sports steering wheel are standard.

Easy infotainment is afforded by an 8.25-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus twin front/twin rear USB-C ports and eight speakers.

A high safety standard includes Front Assist (autonomous emergency braking – AEB) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Assist, Side Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, cruise control, Advanced driver fatigue detection and six airbags.

A $4200-optional Signature Pack is available on the Select, featuring: 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, chrome roof rails, power tailgate, Park Assist, Travel Assist with adaptive lane guidance, adaptive cruise control, Suedia upholstery, 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit and LED ambient lighting.

The Kamiq Monte Carlo steps up with previously optional equipment now standard.

The Monte Carlo includes the features of the Select with Signature Pack, with the addition of unique-design alloy wheels, black roof rails and sports cloth seats with a power adjustable driver’s seat and front seat heating.

Fully loaded value further includes a larger 9.2-inch infotainment system with embedded satellite navigation, Digital Cockpit with map displays, 10-speaker premium audio system, panoramic glass roof with electronic sunblind, Matrix LED headlamps with adaptive high-beam, carbon-look dashboard trim and Sport Chassis Control – providing the sophistication of adaptive dampers including Normal or Sport settings.

Škoda Australia head of product and marketing Kieran Merrigan said the upgrade Kamiq delivers the perfect balance of value and versatility.

“Škoda is offering the Kamiq Select as an incredibly roomy high-value star in the compact SUV class, while the Kamiq Monte Carlo with adaptive suspension and 250Nm turbocharged power adds segment-busting driver enjoyment with loaded specification,” Mr Merrigan said.

“The Select typifies Škoda’s intelligent packaging philosophy, with compact dimensions and a roomy interior – plus features and interior quality positioned well above the compact SUV norm.

“The Monte Carlo can be compared to premium offerings in the market only for thousands of dollars less and with a longer warranty to boot.”

The Škoda Kamiq Select is powered by a refined and efficient 1.0-litre turbocharged engine with 200Nm of torque and 85kW of power, plus a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG).

The Kamiq Monte Carlo raises the game with a dynamic 1.5-litre turbo engine with 250Nm and 110kW, plus a 7-speed DSG.

The upgraded Škoda Kamiq range is available now.
