Škoda brings back the Superb Sportline sedan and wagon

THE PANDEMIC HAS CAUSED chaos in many ways, not least in vehicle availability.

One of those affected is Škoda which has had supply problems with its Superb models.

Those issues have now been resolved and the 2021 Superb returns with a new driveaway sticker price that is more than amortised by the addition of $3400 in new equipment (Škoda figures). This list includes wireless charging and wireless Apple Carplay, Matrix headlights and Virtual Cockpit.

Sedan and wagon alike retain the 2.0-litre direct injection turbo petrol four-cylinder engine of 206kW/350Nm driven through all four wheels.

This bit doesn’t change …

Meanwhile, the Superb Scout 4×4, originally intended as a limited edition to meet demand for one of the most capacious cars on the market, is carried over to 2021 with standard updates that include a detachable tow bar.

The Superb Scout, the extra urban wagon with raised ride height and distinctive side cladding released early this year, returns for 2021. New features, detailed below, are valued at $2900 (Škoda figures).

The Scout too retains its drivetrain – a 200kW version of the Sportline’s engine fitted with a particulate filter.

Škoda’s MY21 Superb 162TSI sedan and wagon are scheduled for quarter one 2021. Full specification and pricing will be released shortly.

Running costs of Škoda’s Superb range can be further reduced with the purchase of a Škoda new car service pack at $1700 for five years. A used car service pack ($1600 for four years) can be bought any time after the first 15,000 km scheduled service and is valid for the next four scheduled services.

New Škodas are permanently available with five year/unlimited kilometre warranty.
