Renowned European designer Jozef Kaban joins MG

IT IS A CLEAR SIGN OF MG’S intent to compete on the world stage that they have welcomed renowned car designer Jozef Kaban to the team. He joins MG as the Vice President of MG’s Global Design Centre at an exciting time for the brand.

With a rich background in automotive design, Kaban brings to MG a wealth of experience from his time with a number of European and English brands. Notably, his portfolio includes the design of the iconic Bugatti Veyron supercar.

MG Motor Australia’s Chief Executive Office, Peter Ciao said this comes at a pivotal time for MG, as the company celebrates its centenary.

“I have followed Jozef Kaban closely within the industry and we’re very happy to have him join MG as we get ready for the launch of the Cyberster EV roadster later this year.”

“MG will unveil its latest concept car, the EXE181, at the Beijing motor show this week. This new concept draws inspiration from the EX181 land speed record breaker of 1957 which had Sir Stirling Moss behind the wheel, signalling MG’s ongoing commitment to innovation and performance,” Mr Ciao said.

Kaban’s educational background is as distinguished as his professional one, being a graduate of the Royal Academy of Art in London. His expertise and vision have been instrumental in creating some of the most memorable designs in the automotive world.

MG Motor has a storied history that dates back to 1924, with its roots deeply embedded in the creation of the MG 14/28 Super Sports car by Cecil Kimber. Over the decades, MG has evolved from its early beginnings to become a forward thinking manufacturer of electric vehicles as seen with the MG4 and ZS EV.

Mr Ciao said the brand’s current focus is on “electric for everyone”, exemplified by its dedication to quality, as evidenced by the generous 7-year unlimited kilometre manufacturer’s warranty and fixed price servicing.

“In a market where customers are becoming increasingly aware of their finances, providing transparency on the final cost customers will pay for buying an EV and for servicing is very important, that’s why MG has made the move to offer both to customers with no hidden costs,” he said.

“Customers like choices. We want them to be empowered to have the freedom to drive a SUV or a hatch, which is why we are offering both the MG4 51kWh Excite and ZS EV Excite at under $40k drive away. Whenever we are able to pass price reductions like this onto our customers, we will make sure we do.”
