STATION WAGONS (OR “ESTATE CARS, if you must) still have their fans, and we at seniordriveraus count ourselves among them.
One company that continues to offer station wagons is Peugeot, and now they’ve added another to their range. The Peugeot 508 GT Sportswagon Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) will arrive in Q2, 2023, with expressions of interest now being taken across the authorised dealer network and on the Peugeot Australia website.
Launching in a single variant, the new arrival will offer the striking style, dynamic driving experience and wagon practicality that 508 owners love with the addition of electric motor benefits.
The Sportswagon PHEV variant will join the 508 GT Fastback Plug-In Hybrid, that arrived locally in March 2022, to soon provide an electrifying choice between PHEV sedan and wagon body styles.
With electric efficiency for everyday and plug-in hybrid performance to go further, the 508 Sportswagon Plug-In Hybrid will offer drivers a total of 165kW of power resulting from a 133kW PureTech engine combined with an 81kW electric motor.
Kate Gillis, Managing Director Peugeot Australia, commented: “The 508 Sportswagon appeals to discerning customers who appreciate characterful and emotive style as well as the versatility and practicality afforded by the wagon design. We believe the additional benefits of plug-in hybrid technology will further enhance the local appeal of our Sportswagon.”
