New Subaru Crosstrek arrives from $34,990

SUBARU CONTINUES ITS all-wheel drive approach with its new small SUV, the Crosstrek, the continuation of the XV model.

Australian pricing and specification for Subaru’s all-new small SUV have been confirmed – ahead of its anticipated launch in April.

Priced from $34,990 (plus on road costs), the Symmetrical AWD Subaru Crosstrek range comprises five variants, including three petrol – AWD 2.0L, AWD 2.0R and AWD 2.0S – and two hybrid, AWD Hybrid L and AWD Hybrid S.

The Subaru Crosstrek is a small yet highly capable SUV that features a multitude of the latest infotainment technologies and intuitive safety systems.

The new Subaru Crosstrek presents a much bolder exterior design.

Subaru Australia’s Managing Director, Blair Read, said, “We welcome Crosstrek to the Subaru Australia family as we officially commence orders.”

“The Subaru Crosstrek is a small SUV with real SUV credentials; it can zip through urban streets throughout the week and take you off-the-beaten track on the weekend.  This is not a jacked up small car; this is a small SUV with real capability.”

“Underpinned by the Subaru Global Platform, drivability and comfort have improved for this new generation model, offering owners an engaging yet refined driving experience.”

“It’s capable of tackling almost any driving adventure you please with utter confidence, comfort and convenience.”

The vehicle cockpit has received several enhancements to increase user-friendliness, including, for the first time in a Subaru vehicle, the ultimate convenience of wireless smartphone Qi charging. Additional new features include:

  • 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
  • USB type A and USB type C ports (power supply and communication) plus auxiliary input jack

Every Subaru Crosstrek variant will feature smart key and push-start ignition, LED headlights (dusk-sensing), roof rails, power-folding door mirrors. Crosstrek AWD 2.0R, AWD 2.0S and AWD Hybrid S comprise LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) whilst AWD 2.0L and AWD Hybrid L will feature a bulb type DRL.

Subaru’s Eyesight Driver Assist system continues

Continuing Subaru’s commitment to safety, a core component of the brand’s DNA, the all-new Subaru Crosstrek contains the latest generation EyeSight Driver Assist system with an improved stereo camera and featuring the addition of a new Wide-Angle Monocular Camera. This also adds:

  • Speed sign recognition
  • Lane Centring function
  • Wider field of view

Furthermore, the addition of a Driver Monitoring System – Driver Focus (DMS) offers another layer of safety, as well as convenience, to help reduce the chance of accidents. Whilst the inclusion of 9 SRS airbags mean the all-new Subaru Crosstrek is well-equipped in the event of a collision.

As previously revealed, all-new Subaru Crosstrek petrol variants will be powered by a sporty yet refined direct injection 2.0-litre Boxer engine and a Lineartronic transmission with 8-speed paddle shift manual mode. Moreover, Hybrid variants feature a robust Subaru e-Boxer with 7-speed manual mode.

The feeling of confidence is further underpinned by the Subaru Global Platform which benefits from a refined inner frame that increases cabin strength and delivers a quieter and more comfortable ride.
