ONE OF THE MORE usable mid-size SUVs is Mitsubishi’s Eclipse Cross and with the latest update, it has become even more appealing.
Most importantly, specification changes have improved control and handling, as well as adding Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) to the mid-spec LS model.
Mitsubishi’s S-AWC incorporates active yaw control that controls the brakes and power steering to regulate torque split between the left and right, improving the car’s accuracy when following a chosen line through corners, as well as straight-line driving and lane change manoeuvres.
Along with the LS’s all-wheel drive capabilities, its instrument panel displays an indicator when the vehicle is in AWD mode.
New styling and convenience
In this update, the Exceed models gain revised front door trims with illumination and a black interior headlining.
The Black Edition, with front skid plate, black front bumper and radiator grille, black interior and black spoiler, now offers even more styling options at mid-range level. It also offers a number of convenience feature that also assist driver safety, such as variable auto rain-sensing windscreen wipers, dusk sensing headlamps with auto high beam, fog lamps and forward collision mitigation.
“We are listening to our customers, and they wanted a more affordable all-wheel drive which is why we added S-AWC to the LS. This year we’re pleased to be able to deliver this increased capability.” said Derek McIlroy, Mitsubishi Motors Deputy Director for Marketing and Operations.
