THE POPULAR MITSUBISHI TRITON UTILITY range is set to be enhanced by a new ‘Sport Edition’ variant, as part of the light commercial vehicle’s 23MY updates.
“We are very proud of Triton’s market performance throughout 2022,” said Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO, Shaun Westcott.
“As part of continually evolving our product offer, we now welcome the new, limited-production Triton Sport Edition to Australia.”
“This vehicle is perfectly placed to appeal to those who value a uniquely sporting style, combined with the capability, functionality and practicality that Triton is renowned for,” he said.
Production of the 23MY Triton range commences in September 2022 with first arrivals expected in dealerships from December.
Limited Triton Sport Edition designed to stand out from the crowd
Limited to only 400 units and based on the premium GLS Deluxe grade, the new Triton Sport Edition features an array of unique aesthetic and functional updates to really stand it out from the crowd.
Available in white or black, the new Triton Sport Edition features a dark theme throughout, contrasting the chrome dynamic shield badging with black exterior trims.
Red accents are applied to the skid plate, side steps and rear section, while bonnet and tailgate decals complete a truly unique exterior appearance.
Inside, the seats are upholstered in black leather with red stitching to complete the Sport Edition theme.
All Triton Sport Editions are configured as Dual Cab Pick Ups with Mitsubishi’s renowned Super Select 4×4 drivetrain with rear diff lock. Being based on the highly-appointed GLS Deluxe grade, the Triton Sport Edition is only available with the six-speed automatic transmission.
New audio for Triton GLX-R and GLS grades
23MY sees the return of the factory-fitted SDA1 audio system to Triton GLX-R and GLS model grades, thanks to improved component supply conditions.
This integrated system features a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as two USB points and a HDMI port to support multiple connections.
GLX models gain standard black side steps
23MY Triton GLX models gain black side steps as standard equipment, with the double benefit of improving occupant cabin accessibility and improved side intrusion protection.
Worth noting, however, the 2.4-litre petrol powered GLX Single Cab Chassis has been discontinued.
Optional Triton GLS Deluxe and GSR Tan Orange Interior packages
The Triton GLS Deluxe and GSR Tan Orange Interior option packages continue into 23MY, providing a further sense of sophistication and individualisation for these high-grade Dual Cab Pick-Up models.
The GLS Deluxe package is available for automatic GLS Dual Cab Pick-Ups and comprises:
- Leather appointed seat trim
- Powered Driver’s Seat adjustment
- Heated Front Seats
- Door trims with leather appointed inserts
- Multi Around Monitor
Choosing the Triton GSR with the Tan Orange Interior Option adds:
