Now, those hearts are set to beat even quicker with the arrival of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ Limited Edition in Australia, a model combining stunning performance with an even more overt visual presence.
An extensive list of additions and visual enhancements to the much-loved Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ compact performance hatch are set to add extra desirability. As its name implies, the new Limited Edition model is offered to Australian Mercedes-AMG customers in strictly limited numbers and will be highly sought after by fans of its striking appearance.
The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ Limited Edition initially distinguishes itself with eye-catching paintwork and a swathe of racing-inspired external enhancements. Inside, a number of key trim and specification updates add an even sportier touch to the performance-focused cabin, while the addition of an AMG-developed Aerodynamics Package adds further racy appeal with the dual benefit of providing a tangible improvement to driving characteristics.
Eye-catching in any environment
The A 45 S Limited Edition incorporates both AMG Night Package and Night Package II, both of which add striking design elements in black and high-gloss black that underline the model’s expressive character. Night Package includes black accents to the front splitter, wing mirror housings and beltlines, while windows behind the B-pillar are dark tinted. With Night Package II, there are darkened details found in the struts on the radiator trim, on badging on the front fender and tailgate, on the grille-mounted and wheel hub-mounted Mercedes stars, and on the door handles.
These details are complemented by the black racing stripe that runs from front to rear, set with a bonnet-mounted AMG crest. Foil racing stripes adorn the flanks, and distinctive ‘A 45 S’ lettering is displayed on the front doors. The look is completed by an extensive network of racy yellow highlights, matching the edition-exclusive 19-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels in matt black with contrasting yellow flange and rim spokes.
An AMG Aerodynamics Package, incorporating a fixed AMG rear wing and special add-on parts, does more than add extra motorsport-inspired presence. Developed in the Mercedes-AMG wind tunnel, it increases downforce and improves handling characteristics at high speeds.
The stunning Green Light Magno paintwork has not previously been available in the compact class and was sourced directly from the Mercedes-AMG GT.
Other refined exterior details include the brake calipers for the AMG high-performance braking system in gloss black with a white AMG logo, a silver-chrome fuel cap finished with the AMG logo, and a light projection of the AMG crest onto the road or pavement when entering or exiting the vehicle.

Inside, there’s no mistaking the intent of the A 45 S Limited Edition, led by sports-inspired black AMG Performance seats in ARTICO leather and MICROCUT microfibre with yellow decorative stitching, which also extends to the door panels and instrument panel. The front seats have ‘45 S’ emblems embroidered into the headrests in yellow.
The AMG Performance steering wheel is finished in leather and MICROCUT with yellow decorative stitching. Aluminium trim elements with AMG pattern and yellow AMG lettering add further accents to the interior, while AMG door sills illuminate the AMG logo in yellow, and AMG floor mats include ‘45 S’ lettering and yellow stitching.

This detail-rich Limited Edition further enhances the appeal of the A 45 S Hatch, which thrills with its exceptional performance and outstanding driving capabilities. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine outputs an astonishing 310kW, offering spontaneous response that’s capable of propelling the compact sports car from zero to 100 km/h in as little as 3.9 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 270 km/h.
Fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive and AMG TORQUE CONTROL each make a significant contribution to dynamic driving. The rear axle drive contains two electronically controlled multi-plate clutches, each connected to a drive shaft on the rear axle. Not only can driving force be distributed variably between the front and rear axles, but also selectively between the left and right rear wheels.

The Mercedes-AMG A 45 Limited Edition retails at $128,400 (plus on road costs) and will be available to order from Wednesday, 4th December 2024 at Mercedes-AMG retailers.
