IN LINE WITH ITS PLANS to introduce four new SUV models, Mazda has released its new crossover SUV, the CX-60. It will arrive in Australian showrooms later in 2022.
The Mazda CX-60 is the first of Mazda’s Large Product group models promising greatly enhanced driving pleasure, environmental and safety performance.
Mazda plans to introduce four new SUV models from its Large Product group across the globe by the end of 2023, helping Mazda to meet the varied needs of its customers in different markets around the world.
Offering outstanding environmental and safety performance, Mazda CX-60 is a two-row, mid-sized SUV with a focus on “driving entertainment”. Mazda’s human-centric design philosophy means that the driver will enjoy every journey in the Mazda CX-60, no matter the distance.
The European specification of the Mazda CX-60 revealed today is equipped with e-Skyactiv PHEV. The powertrain is Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid system, which uses a 2.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor. Orders were being taken for the model from March 8 in Europe and the sales are predicted to begin mid-year.
Mazda will begin production of the Mazda CX-60 at Hofu Plant No. 2 in Yamaguchi prefecture on March 11, 2022. The Japanese specification model will be introduced in early April.
Mazda Australia has confirmed it will release the CX-60 in 2022. Further details including price and local specification will be unveiled closer to launch.
