Mazda drivers can now access this extra peace of mind with the introduction of a new drive recorder dash cam.
In a first for Mazda Australia, the company is adding an advanced dash cam package to its extensive and popular Genuine Mazda Accessories range.
Designed for selected Mazda CX SUV models as well as the Mazda BT-50, the system comprises a primary front camera mounted behind the top of the windscreen and works in tandem with a rear camera facing out from the top of the vehicle’s rear window. The system records in 1080p HD at 30 frames per second, providing detailed imagery both ahead and behind the vehicle (recording both forward and to the rear is well worthwhile).
Users can download the cameras’ recorded footage to their smartphone using the dedicated app ‘Cam Viewer’, which is available for both iOS and Android devices.
The front camera’s unique windscreen mounting design features anti-tamper locks to protect the SD card and power connection.
The system’s inbuilt Wi-Fi and GPS positioning allow users to view their vehicle’s journey on Google Maps and review important speed and location data.
The package, which is the result of a collaboration between leading local automotive product specialists and Mazda Australia, has been engineered to cope with Australia’s extreme temperatures, and integrates seamlessly with the vehicle electrical systems. This level of integration and protection for the vehicle’s systems is a key way that the Mazda Genuine drive recorder differentiates itself as the ideal solution for Mazda vehicles.

The new Mazda Genuine drive recorder dash cam package is now available from authorised Mazda Dealers and comes with a five-year warranty when purchased with a new vehicle and fitted by an authorised Mazda Dealer.
