AFTER JUST A WEEK ON SALE, keen buyers are rapidly snapping up the opportunity to secure the new MG ZS EV ahead of its mid-year arrival. Large numbers of early deposits seem to be the rule lately, with Kia reporting that it is already holding 1500 deposits for its new EV6, taking care of their first three years’ allocation.
It’s a similar story with MG. More than 200 new ZS EVs have already been accounted for, with prospective new owners set to take advantage of a $500 rebate on an MG ChargeHub wallbox when they place a deposit.
The Queensland Government has announced that battery-electric vehicles with an MSRP under $58,000 purchased by eligible state residents will qualify for a $3000 rebate, mirroring the incentive currently offered by the NSW Government to eligible residents.
And with the news that the Victorian government has extended its $3000 ZEV (zero emissions electric vehicle) subsidy scheme with an additional 2400 slots to eligible residents, buyers are deciding there’s never been a better time to ensure the future is electric.
The new $46,990 driveaway Excite variant offers a claimed 320km of range from a new 51kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.
New exterior styling, a remodelled interior, a Virtual Cockpit and the MG Pilot safety suite also feature, at a price that undercuts every other EV SUV rival currently on the market.
For those who want more, the new ZS EV Essence offers a more luxurious interior, more active driver aids and larger wheels for just $3000 more, comfortably slotting under the incentive price cap in all three states.
Residents of each respective state who are eligible for electric vehicle incentives can reserve their place in the ZS EV queue at their nearest MG dealer, ahead of a projected mid-year delivery.
Not only will they be in line to claim the respective rebate, but they will also receive $500 towards the cost of the brand new MG ChargeHub home-charging solution for the modern EV motorist.
The ChargeHub incentive is currently limited to the first 500 new ZS EVs ordered ahead of early Q3 delivery. The 7kW single-phase ChargeHub 7 costs $1990, while the 11kW three-phase ChargeHub 11 costs $2090 before any rebates are applied and not including of installation.
“With the addition of the Queensland Government incentive plan and the extension of the Victorian ZEV subsidy, MG Motor’s commitment to the EV space will only grow,” said MG Motor Australia and New Zealand CEO, Peter Ciao.
“The combination of the incentive and the rebate on our brand-new MG ChargeHub wallbox means that people considering the switch to EV are able to do so more affordably.”
“The new ZS EV is backed by our 7-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, and by our growing network of more than 85 dealers across Australia. At MG, we are committed to ensuring that Electric is for Everyone.”
