HYUNDAI’S FIRST-EVER HIGH-PERFORMANCE electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5 N, has arrived in Australia, bringing creative thinking, new technology and world-beating engineering to revolutionise the high-performance EV game.
This ground-breaking performance car showcases Hyundai N’s three core principles: Everyday Sportscar, Corner Rascal (yes, they really call it this!), and Racetrack Capability.
Everyday Sportscar: IONIQ 5 N, as Hyundai N’s first EV, focuses on intuitive and spirited driving, and ushers in new technologies including N Active Sound+ and N e-Shift. And, like all IONIQ 5’s, it is engineered to be quiet, comfortable and cossetting during everyday road driving.
Corner Rascal: IONIQ 5 N leverages its advanced E-GMP platform to deliver dynamic capability and driving fun through features such as N Torque Distribution, electronic Limited-Slip Differential, Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) and a reinforced body structure.
Racetrack Capability: IONIQ 5 N delivers optimal EV performance for track driving with technologies including N Race, N Pedal, N Launch Control, N Grin Boost and Track State of Charge.

Dynamic
Dynamic design reflects IONIQ 5 N’s high-performance capabilities headlined by N-exclusive bumpers, wheel arch extensions, 21-inch wheels and a rear spoiler.
N Light sports front seats, steering wheel, console with lateral support, pedals and footrest are optimised for convenient daily use and maximum driving immersion.
Tuned
A global joint tuning program saw the Australian team contribute to the car’s suspension setup from early in its development cycle, in order to maximise IONIQ 5 N’s comfort, stability, driver involvement and handling capability.
IONIQ 5 N was also tuned on Australian roads and receives a bespoke Australian setup.
Potent
All-wheel drive IONIQ 5 N’s 478kW, 770Nm EV powertrain (with N Grin Boost deployed) is calibrated to be as easy-going and smooth for everyday driving as it is fast and fun on a twisty backroad.
IONIQ 5 N’s body, cooling architecture, friction and regenerative braking systems, axle design and geometry are all thoroughly reworked from IONIQ 5.
Electrifying
IONIQ 5 N elevates the driving experience in ways only possible with an electrified powertrain, especially in the area of throttle response and torque delivery, while N e-Shift and N-Active Sound+ deliver a more traditional and immersive driving experience with virtual gear-shifting feel and simulated sound. These features are unique among performance EVs and deliver more involvement and engagement to the enthusiast driver.
N Drift Optimizer, N Pedal and N Launch Control deliver a uniquely fun circuit driving experience, while N-exclusive features such as N Torque Distribution also support track driving.
Innovative
An array of connected car technology and new EV-only technologies feature throughout IONIQ 5 N, including Bluelink, Over-The-Air (OTA) update capability and Highway Driving Assist 2, with N-specific cluster and HUD themes.
IONIQ 5 N furthers the EV driving experience with new driver assistance technologies such as Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 and Parking Collision Avoidance-Assist.
