Honda confirms pricing for new HR-V, with no bargaining

HONDA AUSTRALIA HAS CONFIRMED PRICING, colour options and variant specification for the new HR-V, ahead of the upcoming launch to the Australian market on October 1, 2024.

It will be offered in three variants, including a new hybrid grade e:HEV X which will sit in between the Vi X petrol and top of the range e:HEV L.

Honda Australia’s Vice President and Director, Ms. Carolyn McMahon said, “The launch of the new HR-V to the Australian market includes the long-awaited arrival of a new hybrid grade. The expansion of our hybrid options has been a hot topic for some time, and we are very excited to be able to extend this new e:HEV X to our already popular hybrid offering across the Honda range.”

Honda set out to create a car with a desirable blend of stand-out design, exceptional efficiency and ultimate usability. Conceived to meet the exacting needs of modern consumers, the new model achieves a rare balance of premium SUV styling and exceptional spaciousness, with compact dimensions and easy entry and exit for passengers.

Each grade features advanced driving, safety, interior and exterior specification upgrades all whilst retaining the exceptional style and quality that the HR-V is known for.

Exterior

The front grille styling has been simplified with a darkened upper lip as well as Adaptive Driving Beam standard on e:HEV grades. In the rear, the taillight housing has been refined and unified into a modern horizontal tone with all LED lights.

Interior

The interior boasts a simplified centre console which has been redesigned for better all-round access. The upper tray has been extended to house a large smartphone and a lower tray which is more accessible from the passenger position. Charging has never been so convenient in the HR-V with a USB-A and USB-C in the front cabin.

Drive and Handling

Improvements have been made to the motion adaptive power steering, enhancing high speed stability and more predictable steering feel. e:HEV grades also benefit from revised front and rear dampener tuning, for even greater levels of ride control and compliance.

Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) has also been improved with higher density cabin soundproofing reducing engine and road noise.

Hybrid Powertrain

The new HR-V e:HEV features refined hybrid Power Control Unit (PCU) software compared to its predecessor, with optimised mode switching algorithms for more seamless transitions between EV and hybrid modes, in addition to improving EV throttle response.

The hybrid mode charge strategy has also been improved to reduce sudden rises in petrol engine RPM in hybrid mode, for a more predictable driving feel and even greater levels of refinement.

Safety and Technology

The new HR-V features advanced active safety features, including improvements to the Honda SENSING suite that offers occupants additional support and enhanced driving experience. All-new features include Low Speed Breaking Control, Traffic Jam Assist and Adaptive Driving Beam (available only on the e:HEV grades).
