Haval Jolion arrives in two spec levels

THERE IS INCREASING INTEREST in newcomer Chinese brands. Haval is making a name for itself offering value-for-money models and picking up sales as a result.

The first shipments of the new Haval Jolion LE (Launch Edition) SUV have arrived into Australia ahead of deliveries to dealer showrooms.

The Jolion will appeal to value-conscious buyers

The Jolion LE will be available in two grades initially, the mid-grade Lux and range-topping Ultra, and limited to a total of 300 units in Australia.

A chrome grille finish with horizontal accents should create a bold, premium impression, and most people won’t have a clue what it is, at least initially.

High specs at a low price will ensure sales

Completely new from the ground up and like its larger sibling the new H6, the new Haval Jolion sits on the company’s new global lightweight modular platform to provide a more refined and enjoyable driving experience.

Power is delivered to the front wheels by a re-engineered 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine with 110kW of power and 210Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Four different drive modes are available on demand to cater for various driving conditions: Standard, Eco, Sport and Snow.

The Jolion has been benchmarked against the best-selling global SUVs which has resulted in a wheelbase of 2700mm , length of 4472mm and width of 1841mm.

With the flexibility and feature set of a larger SUV but at a small SUV price point (although the actual Australian price is yet to be released), the Jolion is expected to stand out in a competitive market and make significant contribution to growing the GWM brand further in Australia and international markets.

Technology is very much at the fore with features such as a colour LED instrument cluster, Heads Up Display, camera-based fatigue monitoring and wireless charging available.

Safety also remains a priority with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition and Rear Cross Traffic Alert standard across the range.

GWM Australia Head of Marketing & Communications, Steve Maciver said “There’s certainly a lot happening at GWM at the moment. To now confirm the arrival of the All-New Haval Jolion, hot on the heels of the All-New H6, is indicative of the progress that our brand is making. With two brand new SUV options that are loaded with technology, safety and value, there has never been a better time for buyers to consider Haval.”

With contemporary styling both inside and out, the Haval Jolion is the second of the new Haval SUV line-up to be conceived by world-renowned designer Phil Simmons.

Produced in GWM’s new state-of-the-art production facility in Taizhou, near Shanghai, the Jolion is an important strategic model in realizing the company’s international growth ambitions.

Full specifications, features and pricing will be disclosed at a later date.
