TELL PEOPLE THEY CAN’T HAVE something and it only serves to make them want it more. That seems to be BMW’s approach to the new X5 M and X6 M Competition models.
Following the global reveal this week, BMW has managed to get their hands on just four for local buyers.
Two First Edition X5 M Competition and two First Edition X6 M Competition models will come to Australia in Q1 2021 and be available for customer order via BMW Australia’s new BMW Shop, which launched earlier this year.
BMW Shop allows customers to reserve a BMW without the need to leave their home in a fast and efficient four-step process. At the conclusion of the process the customer is put in touch with their preferred dealer to arrange delivery and handover.
First Edition variants of the X5 M and X6 M Competition accentuate the distinctive character of the high-performance vehicles on which they’re based.
The BMW Individual Frozen Dark Silver special paint finish, which is available exclusively for the special edition models, showcases the exterior design of the new BMW X5 M Competition and new BMW X6 M Competition to impressive effect.
This matte paint finish ensures the muscular proportions, clear forms and signature M details of the body design come to the fore.
Both models can also be specified with the BMW Individual Frozen Marina Bay Blue special paint finish.
The high-quality paint finishes team up with M light-alloy wheels (21-inch front and
22-inch rear) in star-spoke design with a Jet Black, high-gloss finish that is exclusive to the First Edition variants.
The exterior styling package also showcases selected body elements fashioned from carbon fibre.
As with the M Carbon exterior mirror caps for the two special edition models, the M Carbon rear spoiler fitted to the BMW X6 M Competition provides a race-inspired touch.
An M Carbon engine compartment cover is also part of First Edition specification line-up.
BMW Individual Merino full leather trim in exclusive bi-colour Silverstone/Midnight Blue provides the ideal complement to the dynamic exterior finishes.
Black Alcantara inserts in the seat bolsters and contrast stitching in Sakhir Orange emphasise the sporting contours of the M multifunction seats.
The eye-catching contrast stitching also bring distinctive flourishes to the door panel trim and instrument panel.
The BMW Individual Alcantara headliner, which takes its cue from the leather-covered instrument panel, is trimmed in Midnight Blue.
Lightweight carbon fibre also features in the interior of the special edition models.
The silver-toned “First Edition 1/250” lettering – which is applied to the carbon fibre strip before the clear coat seal – highlights the exclusive character of the models.
The model badge on the cover for the cup holders also carries the same exclusive design feature.
BMW Australia will reveal pricing and other specification details of the First Edition variants in early 2021 ahead of their local arrival.
