FOLLOWING THE LAUNCH OF THE all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep has announced the launch of the fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, the most awarded SUV ever. This Jeep Grand Cherokee boasts an all-new architecture, new plug-in hybrid powertrain arriving later this year, and all-new exterior and interior design.
As the most capable SUV brand pushes toward its future of “Zero Emission Freedom,” the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee will be the most technologically advanced, 4×4-capable, and luxurious Jeep Grand Cherokee yet.
Built at the new Detroit Assembly Complex, the newest iteration has been designed and engineered to deliver even more of what has made Jeep Grand Cherokee a true icon in the premium SUV segment.

For the first time ever on a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the front axle is bolted directly to the engine which allows for superior and refined driving dynamics. Every touchpoint uses premium materials, emanating quality and sophistication throughout the vehicle.
Jeep’s legendary, unrivalled off-road prowess is also elevated even further, with the available Quadra-Trac I and Quadra-Trac II 4×4 setups, Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management system already providing the best capability yet in the unique conditions of the Australian outback, as the brand continues its commitment to a thorough domestic product testing program.
The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available in Night Eagle, Limited, Overland supported by the award winning 3.6L V6 Pentastar Petrol a powerful, fuel-efficient, and refined engine with proven performance for any driving situation. Arriving later this year will be the new plug-in hybrid powertrain, Summit Reserve 4xe.
New for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a front-axle disconnect. If the vehicle senses that road conditions do not require all-wheel drive, the front-axle disconnect automatically places the Grand Cherokee in two-wheel drive, reducing drag on the driveline and improving fuel economy. Four-wheel drive automatically re-engages when the vehicle senses it is needed.
Underneath the sleek, contemporary, and aerodynamically optimised exterior is a new unibody construction which increases rigidity by using lightweight, high-strength aluminium and steel, and incorporates a number of enhancements to improve the ride quality, handling and comfort, while at the same time increasing efficiency and reducing noise and weight.
Fully equipped with an array of advanced safety and security features that assist the driver by enhancing their field of vision, making instrumentation easier to see and enabling collision-avoidance capabilities, on-board operating speeds are now five times faster when compared to the previous generation, courtesy of the latest Uconnect 5 system – the most advanced Jeep connectivity platform yet.
The Grand Cherokee comes with a range of convenient features to keep passengers connected while driving. An available wireless charging pad is provided for the passengers in the front-row and two USB Type C connectors.
Also new for Grand Cherokee is a standard 10.25-inch frameless digital instrument cluster display with nearly two dozen different menus from which the user can select, including driver-assist technologies, such as adaptive cruise control, Drowsy Driver Detection and Traffic Sign Recognition.
