Chery announces 19 new hybrid models

ON APRIL 10TH, CHERY HELD AN EVENT in Wuhu, Anhui, China to launch the brand’s latest global hybrid technology, known as “Chery Super Hybrid (CSH)” system.

During the celebrations, Chery confirmed it will introduce 19 new hybrid models across HEV, PHEV, and REEV categories in 2025. This includes the SUV TIGGO range (7, 8 and 9), which will be revealed at the Auto Shanghai 2025.

In terms of efficiency, CSH leverages a next-generation hybrid engine with a record-breaking 46.5 percent thermal efficiency and a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) boasting 93 percent comprehensive efficiency.

For performance, Chery has introduced the 2.0TGDI engine paired with DHT230 and DHT280 transmissions, achieving world-leading milestones: 280kW of hybrid power output and a hybrid motor speed of 24,000 rpm.

At the launch event, Chery Chairman Yin Tongyue emphasized that the company’s hybrid technology strategy was founded on sustainability, guided by the principle of delivering “four essentials”: eco-friendly development, affordability, safety, and reliable driving range.

The goal is to provide diverse global markets with superior technological solutions, offering consumers greater choice.

Back in 2001, when “hybrid” was still a futuristic concept for most automakers, Chery began its R&D journey from the ground up.

Today, the company stands as China’s earliest hybrid technology pioneer, boasting the most advanced solutions, the fastest-growing hybrid segment, and the widest range of hybrid-equipped models in its line-up.

After over 20 years of dedicated R&D and strategic planning, Chery has established itself as a global leader in hybrid development, with its CSH system ushering in the next generation of new-energy vehicles.

More details will be revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show next week.
