BMW now taking orders for i4 EV

IN THE CURRENT CRAZY car market, it pays to get in early if you want to lock in the car of your choice. As a result, BMW has opened the order books for one of its most highly anticipated upcoming fully electric models, the BMW i4.

Customers are now able to reserve one of the first examples of the i4 via BMW Shop with local deliveries to begin in Q1, 2022.

Those who reserve their i4 and place a $500 deposit will have the opportunity to specify their vehicle later this year in coordination with their preferred BMW dealer when more detail is released about the model line-up, specification and equipment offerings.

Looks great from this angle …

The i4 represents a significant element in BMW’s new generation electric vehicle product strategy following launch of the iX3 and iX xDrive40 and xDrive50 this year.

… we’re not so convinced from the front though

It combines progressive styling, signature BMW dynamics, luxury, comfort and sustainable performance characteristics.

The BMW i4 line-up will also feature an M Performance model and power output of up to 390kW, which will propel the i4 from zero to 100km/h in just four seconds. The i4 will offer a driving range of up to 590km.

Manufacture of the i4 is carried out with sustainability as a key focus, which aligns with BMW Group’s strategic future direction.

The electricity used to produce the vehicle in Munich – as well as the iX in Dingolfing – is generated via hydroelectric plants in Bavaria.

This is a key aspect of BMW Group’s plan to reduce its emissions by 80 percent by 2030.

The development of smart vehicle architectures and a highly flexible production network will enable BMW Group to have around 12 fully electric models on the roads worldwide by 2023.

Deliveries of fully electric BMW Group models are set to grow by more than 50 percent annually on average by 2025.
