AUDI AUSTRALIA HAS REVEALED THE pricing and specification for the highly exclusive Audi RS 6 Avant GT. This special edition model elevates one of Audi’s most sought-after and aspirational models, drawing inspiration from the brand’s storied performance heritage, including the iconic Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car.
Priced at (deep breath!) $399,000 (plus on road costs), the Audi RS 6 Avant GT exemplifies Audi’s commitment to blending exceptional performance with striking design and premium technology. With a limited run of 22 individually numbered units available for Australian customers out of a global 660, this model promises to be a prized collector’s item, embodying both rarity and exclusivity.
“We are excited to bring the RS 6 Avant GT to the Australian market. This exclusive model not only underscores Audi’s commitment to performance and innovation but also celebrates our rich motorsport heritage,” said Jeff Mannering, Director of Audi Australia.
“This unique car is a brilliant example of Audi’s continuous pursuit of dynamic driving performance. With its bespoke features and highly limited availability, the RS 6 Avant GT will create a new chapter in the history of Audi in Australia.”
The RS 6 Avant GT boasts a top speed limited to 305km/h, underscoring its high-performance credentials. The twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine in a V-layout has an immense output of 463kW and delivers 850Nm of torque.
Performance-wise, the powerhouse is equipped with manually adjustable coilover suspension and a specially tuned quattro sport differential on the rear axle, ensuring a dynamic driving experience. The sports-wagon achieves a remarkable zero to 100km/h time of just 3.3 seconds, ensuring a thrilling ride for all passengers (and no doubt some revenue for law enforcers).
Unique to this special edition are bespoke elements that elevate the RS 6 Avant GT to new heights. The front bumpers and fascia are distinctively designed, incorporating a carbon bonnet and front fenders. The roof edge spoiler, tailgate, and rear diffuser have been re-profiled to enhance aerodynamics and visual appeal. Customers can choose between Mythos black or Arkona white exterior paint, each complemented by Audi motorsport-inspired decals tailored to the selected colour. The vehicle rides on 22-inch Audi Sport 6-arm ‘Avus’ inspired alloy wheels, available in either white or black, depending on the vehicle colour selected.
Equipped with RS ceramic brakes featuring striking red callipers, and carbon exterior mirror housings, the vehicle exudes an aggressive yet refined aesthetic. The black Audi rings and badging further enhance its bold presence on the road.
The interior is equally impressive, featuring RS front bucket seats crafted from leather and Dinamica, with seat backrest covers in matte carbon. The armrests, and centre console sides feature contrast stitching in Express red and copper, upholstered in black Dinamica along with the dashboard and door waist rails, adding a touch of sophistication to the sporty interior.
Inside, the RS 6 Avant GT features inlays in open-pore carbon twill structure and an Audi virtual cockpit plus with an RS layout, often referred to as the ‘runway’. The standard Sensory package enriches the driving experience with a Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System, black Dinamica headlining, rear door window sunshades, a leather steering wheel airbag cover, and heated rear outer seats, offering unparalleled comfort and luxury.
Individual numbering on the centre console highlights the exclusivity of each unit, while red seat belts and front floor mats with the RS GT logo in red underscore the model’s unique character. Illuminated front RS 6 GT scuff plates and front entry lighting with RS 6 GT projection complete the interior enhancements.
Aside from paint colours, wheel colours, and suspension type, all RS 6 Avant GTs for Australia have an identical fixed specification, with each of the small handful of units well-equipped for collectors and driving enthusiasts alike.
