THE AUDI ALLROAD is an intriguing concept, a high-performance station wagon with permanent all-wheel drive. For many people, it’s the perfect combination.
The all-new Audi A6 allroad quattro 45 TDI offers a rugged-yet-sophisticated exterior design, combining the sleek attributes of the A6 Avant with sharp new features that provide an athletic off-road presence. The wide Singleframe grille, edged by arresting new Matrix LED headlights and dynamic LED rear lights create a futuristic design, complemented by aluminium styling elements. 20-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels feature as standard on the A6 allroad, alongside an electric tailgate with gesture control, illuminated door sill trims (with aluminium inlays) and door LEDs with ‘allroad’ projection that radiate a sense of ambience and ground visibility.
“The all-new A6 allroad quattro is our legendary all-rounder,” said Shawn Ticehurst, Director of Product Planning & Pricing at Audi Australia.
“It has the unmistakable look of adventure and will continue to occupy a unique place in the premium segment: combining the strengths of both an Avant and an SUV. For some of our most loyal owners, the Audi A6 allroad quattro has always been ‘just right’ and the new generation delivers more in every area. It includes more than $15,000 worth of additional equipment, compared to its predecessor.”
The versatile all-new A6 allroad adds powerful off-road capabilities to the already versatile A6 Avant; it can continue driving when the sealed road ends. Optimal handling and traction is assured via the quattro all-wheel drive system, inspiring confidence in challenging weather conditions.
The multifaceted A6 allroad gets adaptive air suspension that adjusts the height of the vehicle for alternating ground clearance levels, dependent on the road speed and choice of driving mode (applied within the Audi drive select function). Ample pulling power is assured in the A6 allroad with up to 2.5 tonnes of towing capacity, further improved by its ground clearance height of up to 184mm.
Strong performance is delivered in the all-new Audi A6 allroad quattro 45 TDI, powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder TDI engine, producing 183kW with peak torque of 600Nm. The A6 allroad quattro can reach 100km/h from rest in just 6.5 seconds, returning 6.6 litres per 100km and 174 grams of CO2 emissions per km. Power is delivered to the road via a smooth-shifting, eight-speed tiptronic transmission and the legendary Audi quattro all-wheel drive.
The interior of the all-new A6 allroad is luxurious and elegant, and equipped with a range of innovative technology features. The new MMI Navigation system offers countless controls and switches for a clean, minimalist layout with dual touchscreens (10.1-inch and 8.6-inch). The operating concept is further enhanced with a high-resolution (12.3-inch) display Audi virtual cockpit.
