DESPITE A HEFTY PRICE TAG (whilst still undercutting other hot hatches), demand for Toyota’s new GR Yaris hot hatch has been extraordinary. As a result, the stock available at special offer prices has been fully subscribed.
Customers have placed orders for the first 1,000 vehicles at $39,950 driveaway and a further 100 vehicles at $44,950 driveaway.
A small amount of remaining stock at dealerships will be on-sold to customers as available.
Toyota Australia’s Vice President Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley said GR Yaris has excited sports-car fans with its “born from WRC” performance credentials.
“Our significant local investment in the GR brand and our customers made this pure performance car genuinely attainable; in fact, GR Yaris has exceeded expectations and ignited the market,” Mr Hanley said.
Toyota Australia is negotiating to receive further supply of the 200kW performance car, potentially arriving in the second half of 2021. Details including pricing will be announced in due course.
The special-edition GR Yaris Rallye remains on track for introduction in the first half of 2021, with pricing and details to be announced later.
