This new model brings together impressive performance via its BMW TwinPower Turbo V8 and all-weather traction capability thanks to standard fitment of the highly sophisticated, rear-drive biased and variable BMW xDrive system.
The 4.4-litre engine in the M550i xDrive features two twin-scroll turbochargers and provides the driver with unrelenting power delivery and a loud, evocative note.
The powerplant is mated to the latest-generation eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, which features a wider gear ratio spread and intelligent electronic management to provide seamless shifts no matter the driving style.
The M550i xDrive matches the high level of driver appeal and capability with refinement, build quality and a luxury interior.
Two variants will be offered – beginning with the Pure – to provide customers maximum choice while still delivering identical performance characteristics and supreme roadholding with specific tuning courtesy of BMW M.
The M550i xDrive Pure includes an extensive list of standard dynamic and luxury specification elements including 20-inch M light alloy wheels, M Sport brakes, adaptive M suspension, M aerodynamics package, M Sport differential, fine wood interior trim, sport seats, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Head-Up Display, Driving Assistant Plus and harman/kardon surround sound system.
Both variants feature distinctive exterior appointments finished in Cerium Grey such as the kidney grille and mirror caps.
The interior is characterised by both sport-focused and luxury touches including illuminated door sill finishers and high-grade leather ‘Dakota’ upholstery matched with sporty aluminium or elegant fine-wood trims for both variants.
A range of paint and interior colour options is also available for customers to personalise the M550i xDrive to their personal tastes.
Local arrival of the M550i xDrive Pure will occur before in Q1, 2020 while the M550i xDrive will be available in Q2, 2020.
