Cadillac will launch in Australia despite BEV downturn

WITH THE WAY BATTERY electric sales have been tanking, some have speculated that GM may be rethinking its decision to launch Cadillac here.

GM Australia and NZ managing director Jess Bala declares that General Motors is “100 percent behind us launching Cadillac here.”

Unlike the last intended launch of Cadillac in Australia in 2009, Ms Bala says there is an “ironclad guarantee” that GM will not renege at the last minute.

Needless to say, there has been considerable time and investment already made into converting these EV Cadillacs to right-hand drive.

Not surprisingly, Cadillac will be a niche luxury brand in Australia.
