ŠKODA IS INTRODUCING A FRESH ENTRY to its value-packed line-up, unveiling the new Fabia Select five-door hatchback with a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty and high standard of specification from a national $31,990 driveaway.
Škoda is also offering the new Fabia Select with an attractive Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) offer through Škoda Choice from $81 per week (at 6.99 percent p.a with 20 percent deposit, 60-month term and 15,000km per year limit). As with all models from the ‘Simply Clever’ brand, buyers can go to the website to access a calculator with flexibility across deposit amount, term length and kilometre limit.
Designed as the smart ‘selection’ for customers wanting larger-vehicle space in their small hatchback, the new Fabia Select maintains its 380-litre boot volume and generous front/rear legroom combined with style and appointments similar to rivals’ mid-specification models.
On the outside the Fabia Select features 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and tail-lights, front fog lights, front and rear parking sensors and power-fold door mirrors as standard.
An 8.0-inch digital cluster, convenience key with keyless entry and start, automatic on/off headlights and wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated door mirrors, height adjustable front seats with lumbar support and leather-trimmed sports steering wheel are standard.
Easy infotainment is afforded by an 8.25-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus twin USB-C ports.
A high safety standard includes Front Assist (autonomous emergency braking – AEB) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Manoeuvre Braking front and rear (AEB), Lane Assist, Side Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, cruise control, driver fatigue detection and 6 airbags.
Škoda Australia head of product and marketing Kieran Merrigan said the Fabia Select offers high-level appointments and intelligent use of space, combined with strong value for money and European-best ownership.
“Škoda customers appreciate that when they buy a vehicle from us in a particular segment, they’re often getting more space and equipment than competitor offerings,” Mr Merrigan said.
“The Fabia continues with the enormous boot and generous legroom that surpasses some vehicles from the next class up, while the Select maintains the little Škoda touches that others reserve for flagship models.”
“When you add the seven-year warranty, availability of Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) and affordable servicing plans, the Fabia Select is easily the best value European small car on sale.”
The Škoda Fabia Select is powered by a refined and efficient 1.0-litre turbocharged engine with 200Nm of torque and 85kW of power, plus a seven-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG).
It will be complemented by the Fabia Monte Carlo offering a dynamic 1.5-litre turbo engine with 250Nm and 110kW, plus a seven-speed DSG, with revised specification to be announced.
Škoda will introduce ‘Select’ entry grades as a signpost for value and high specification, including on the forthcoming upgraded Kamiq in July and upgraded Scala and Karoq in August.
The Fabia Select also arrives in showrooms in August, marking a four-tier refresh of Škoda’s hatchback and SUV models.
