Mercedes-Benz C200 Night Edition available for pre-order

WITH SIGNIFICANT EXTRA EQUIPMENT added, plus what Mercedes-Benz call “an astonishing driveaway price”, the new Mercedes-Benz C 200 Night Edition is now available for pre-order.

With its purposeful stance, sensuous design and premium appointments, the C 200 model has made quite an impression on the market. Now, a raft of added appointments makes an even stronger case for one of the cornerstone models in the Mercedes-Benz passenger car range.

The C 200 Night Edition further visually distinguishes itself with the addition of the Night Package, featuring specific design elements in high-gloss black including the radiator louvre, the AMG-style front and rear aprons, the beltline trim strip and window surround, and the exterior mirror housings. Eye-catching 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels complete a more distinctive appearance.

The Night Edition gets a premium Burmester 3D surround sound system. In combination with newly added heat and noise-insulating acoustic glass for the windscreen and front side windows, the spacious cabin with its luxurious standard appointments provides a high-class sanctuary from the outside world.

Added appeal for a firm favourite

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been a leader in the prestige mid-size sedan class for decades. A contemporary design complements ideal proportions, framing a model that has always managed to achieve the rare feat of being aspirational, yet also highly attainable. Premium materials and a high level of standard appointments across the range contribute to the model’s enduring appeal, as does the outstanding quality of the underlying chassis and drivetrain.

The premium Night Edition adds further appeal to the C 200 sedan which already incorporates the sporty feel of a range of AMG Line interior and exterior enhancements. Occupants appreciate the radically simple dashboard lined in beautiful anthracite linestructure lime wood trim, set with an 11.9-inch portrait-orientation centre screen of stunning resolution. This is the heart of the MBUX multimedia system, which provides fingertip or voice control of myriad functions, from navigation and entertainment to climate control, telephony and vehicle systems.

The driver gets their own 12.3-inch LCD colour display, in addition to a head-up display and a multifunction steering wheel. Front seat passengers enjoy heated, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, while all passengers can settle in with ARTICO upholstery, dual-zone climate control, Ambient Lighting Plus, and DAB+ digital radio.

The C 200 also offers occupants smartphone integration for Android Auto and Apple Car Play, and wireless charging. The outstanding Mercedes Me Connect package, allowing the driver to control and/or monitor a number of key vehicle functions from a linked smart phone, is also available.

Dark-tinted glass for rear-seat passengers provides both privacy and insulative benefits, and a panoramic sliding sunroof adds to the feel of a spacious, well-illuminated interior space.

All the safety and convenience you expect

All occupants enjoy the peace of mind provided by a wide array of integral safety systems from 10 airbags and the PRE-SAFE accident anticipation system, to a range of assistants including DISTRONIC active distance assist cruise control, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC automatic parking mode, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Traffic Sign Assist.

Further safety and convenience measures include LED headlights with Headlamp Assist and Adaptive Highbeam Assist, automatic wipers, a tyre pressure loss warning system, a 360-degree camera providing a high-level view during parking and low-speed manoeuvres, keyless entry and start, and a power-closing boot lid.

Beneath it all, a feisty turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder powerplant produces 150kW of power and 300Nm of torque, plus an additional 15kW and 200Nm boost from the second-generation Integrated Starter Generator incorporating a 48-volt on-board electrical system.

Paired with a smooth and responsive 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission and lowered AGILITY CONTROL suspension, this responsive drivetrain delivers on the sporty driving experience promised by the sharply styled exterior, yet also delivers exceptional control and long-distance cruising comfort.
