ONE OF THE ISSUES WITH electric vehicles is that they are out of reach of average buyers. MG, the Chinese manufacturer is addressing this problem by introducing the ZS EV at the quite affordable price of from $44,990 driveaway.
At launch, the new MG ZS EV will maintain its status as the best value electric vehicle available on the Australian market. The entry level ‘Excite’ model is priced at an unrivalled $44,990 drive away price ($43,990 manufacturer’s suggested retail price), while the premium ‘Essence’ model is packed with features and priced at a competitive $48,990 drive away price ($47,990 manufacturer’s suggested retail price).
Peter Ciao, CEO at MG Motor Australia & New Zealand, said the new ZS EV sets a new standard for electric vehicles in Australia and demonstrates MG’s commitment to making EVs accessible for everyone.
“This past year has been an incredible year for MG. In 2021, sales of electric vehicles broke records and MG’s 2021 ZS EV led the charge.”
“However, we would have not achieved this success without the support of our customers and we are so honoured to see Australians embracing the MG brand and the ZS EV with such enthusiasm.”
“Our seven-year warranty is comprehensive across both ICE, Electric and Batteries with no hidden exclusions. All of our 83 dealerships in Australian are trained to sell and service all our products and our customers appreciate this level of service and offering.”
“We have been successful in offering the Australian market unparalleled value and we are now entering a new phase of our growth with the new ZS EV. This is the first step in our new journey to an electric future that’s here today.”
“While value will remain at the core of our product offering, value means different things to different people and we want to deliver that value to as many people as we can.”
“Aligned with the new ZS EV launch is news that I am excited to publicly announce today. We’re underway with our new corporate identity (CI) which ties in with our broader growth strategies that are purpose-led, customer-centric, experience-driven, data enabled, and technology-scaled.”
“This transformation of culture, operations, and outcomes is a big part of our future DNA. It begins with a broader consideration of the role MG has in the lives of Australians.”
“Part of this is a new premium look and feel that complements each vehicle that’ll be showcased in a way that speaks to the product expectations of our existing and new customer base.”
Innovative, progressive, connected, future ready and here now!
The new 2022 ZS EV features a striking exterior makeover, complemented by new battery technology that delivers a superior driving range of 320km measured on the WLTP cycle – up from 263km of the 2021 model.
New on-board charging capabilities means up to 80 percent charging time in as little as 54 minutes, based on a 50kW combined charging system (CCS).
A revised front fascia more proudly pronounces ZS EV’s electric intentions while retaining the practical front-mounted charging port which makes charging cable connection much more convenient. LED lighting clusters front and rear also add a striking touch to the mid-sized electric SUV.
The new ZS EV will also offer owners its own app-based software architecture, known as iSmart, which is backed by Amazon’s AWS cloud-based system.
This will allow owners to perform over-the-air updates, remote AC control and door locking, real-time navigation, ‘find my car’ parking lot search, live weather updates and stream audio from Amazon Music.
Both the ‘Excite’ and ‘Essence’ models come in a range of five: Brighton Blue Metallic; York White; Pebble Black; Sloane Silver Metallic and Diamond Red Metallic.
Mr Ciao concluded “With improved range, smart design, superior technology and exceptional performance, the new 2022 MG ZS EV is a real game changer.”
