PERENNIAL “ALSO RAN” Škoda will be hoping to make a breakthrough with its reinvented Fabia hatchback. It arrives in local showrooms in August in the form of the Monte Carlo Edition 150, sharply priced at $37,990 driveaway.
A considerable step forward in terms of technology and performance on the long-serving former generation Fabia, the new Monte Carlo Edition 150 (named for its output in horsepower) hatchback is a bigger, quicker and smarter car that occupies an altogether more premium position.
“Perhaps no new model better embodies Škoda’s journey in Australia than the new Fabia Monte Carlo,” the brand’s Director Michael Irmer said. “Far from being a budget sticker European as it was initially perceived, last year the average drive away price of a new Škoda was $52,000.

Škoda Monte Carlo Edition 150 service packs are priced at $1500 for five years; $2100 for seven years with the four year used car pack $1300.
