NISSAN’S “LOVE IT OR HATE IT” Qashqai SUV gains more safety and convenience features and further engineering refinements for MY22.
“This new model delivers more of everything Australian drivers love about the Qashqai, with more power, more safety equipment, and more technology,” says Adam Paterson, Managing Director Nissan Australia.
Power from the 1.3-litre turbocharged engine rises by 4kW, with torque boosted by 50Nm — with overall outputs now an engaging 110kW and 250Nm — while a newly developed X-Tronic auto transmission delivers seamless gear changes and boosts economy.
Towing capacity has also increased by 300kg, to 1500kg braked.
A series of key technology updates include the introduction of a new 12.3-inch high-definition infotainment system with DAB digital radio, plus Wireless Apple CarPlay, offered on the ST+ model and above.
In addition to the Qashqai “hero” colour of Magnetic Blue, customers can choose from five eye-catching, two-tone paint schemes including Fuji Sunset Red, Ceramic Gray and Ivory Pearl, all matched to a Pearl Black roof.
Four model grades are offered on the new, fourth-generation Qashqai, all with added features:
ST
Euro NCAP five-star safety package with centre far-side airbags for occupant-to-occupant protection, intelligent cruise, blind-spot intervention, multi-mode auto with paddle shifts, and rear passenger air vents.
The Qashqai ST is also standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, auto LED headlights, I-Key with Push Button Start, 7-inch TFT (thin film transistor) meter and rear autonomous emergency braking.
ST+
This value-packed grade adds LED fog lights, 18-inch alloys, 12.3-inch HD infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay, wired Android Auto, satellite navigation, Around View monitor and more.
ST-L
The ST-L is feature-packed with advanced Pro-PILOT semi-autonomous driving and safety aids, and adaptive LED headlights, which split the Qashqai’s high beam into 12 individually controlled light segments, detect traffic ahead and adjust the beam output accordingly. There’s also privacy glass, LED turn signals, part-leather accented seating, 19-inch alloys, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, heated steering wheel, heated front seats and more.
Ti
The flagship model introduces a huge 10.8-inch Head Up Display, using double free-form mirror technology integrated with the navigation and infotainment systems, a quilted leather interior with massage function on the front seats, 12.3-inch full TFT instrument cluster, hands-free power tailgate, 10-speaker premium BOSE audio system and more.
